Terms of service

Last updated: September 6, 2026

1. Who provides the service

PigeonDM (“the service”, “we”) is operated by Antonin Langlade. You can reach us at info@pigeondm.com. By connecting an Instagram account to PigeonDM, you accept these terms.

2. What the service does

You choose a keyword and a link for a given Instagram post. When someone comments that keyword under that post, PigeonDM sends them your link in a direct message through Meta’s official API, and posts one public reply under their comment. Every send is recorded in your activity log.

The service acts only on the account that authorised it, and only on that account’s own posts.

3. What you need

An Instagram Business or Creator account, which you own or are authorised to operate. Instagram does not allow this kind of automation on personal accounts. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.

4. Your responsibilities

  • The links, keywords and message text you configure are yours. You are responsible for what they contain and for having the right to share it.
  • You must not use the service to send unsolicited messages. It only ever replies to someone who publicly commented your keyword first, and you must not try to work around that.
  • You must not use it for content that is illegal, deceptive, or that breaks Instagram’s Community Guidelines or Meta’s Platform Terms.
  • You must not attempt to access another user’s account or data, probe the service’s authentication, or automate access outside the interface we provide.

5. Instagram and Meta

PigeonDM is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta or Instagram. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. It works through Meta’s official Instagram API and depends on it: if Meta changes, limits or withdraws that access, parts of the service may stop working, and we cannot promise otherwise.

Instagram may also filter or delay automated messages on its own terms, particularly messages that contain links. That is why PigeonDMalso posts a public reply under the comment: the person who asked can see that something happened, even on the occasions when Instagram holds the DM back.

6. Your data, and ending your use

What we process and why is described in our privacy policy. In short: comment data is kept for 60 days and then deleted automatically.

You can stop the service at any moment, in three ways, and each of them works without asking us: delete your account from the settings page, remove PigeonDM from Instagram (Settings → Apps and websites), or send a data deletion request from Instagram. Removing the app destroys your access token immediately; your configuration is then erased after 30 days, unless you reconnect before that.

7. Price

The service has a free plan, with the limits shown on the pricing page, and a paid Pro plan. The price, the billing period and how to cancel the paid plan are set out in our terms of sale. Nothing is charged without the price being shown to you first.

8. Availability

We do not promise any particular level of availability. The service is provided as is: it can be interrupted for maintenance, by a failure at one of the providers it depends on, or by a change on Meta’s side. We try to keep those interruptions short and to make failures visible in your activity log rather than silent.

9. Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 4, that puts our Meta app at risk, or that we are required to act on by law or by Meta. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses (lost sales, lost followers, a campaign that underperformed, an opportunity you did not get) arising from use of the service, from a message that was filtered or never delivered, or from a change made by Meta or Instagram. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell connected users before it takes effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
