How it works
Three steps, and the only one you do is the first.

You pick the word
Write it in your caption: LINK, CODE, RECIPE, whatever suits the post. Case, accents and punctuation are ignored.
- 02
Someone comments it
PigeonDM matches the word on that exact post, then looks up the links and codes you attached to it. Nothing is sent if the post is not set up.
- 03
The DM goes out
The DM arrives with everything you attached, and a public reply saying "Check your DM 🤌🏻" is posted under the comment, so others know what to do.

When a post shows several things, PigeonDM sends all of them in one DM, and it shows you every comment it could not answer.

Links and codes, one per line
Add one line per thing to send: a link, or plain text like a promo code, which goes out exactly as you typed it. It all goes out in a single DM, so nobody has to ask twice. A counter measures the final message, because Instagram rejects anything over 1000 characters and a rejected DM is a lost lead.

The public reply
Several replies, one picked at random
Every time a DM goes out, PigeonDM also replies under the comment, so the people scrolling by can see it works. Write a few versions and each comment gets one of them at random, so your comments do not read like a copy-paste. Both plans include it.

The comment log
It shows you the ones that failed
Once one of your posts is on, every comment is recorded with the decision taken. A post you never imported, a link you forgot to set, an error from Instagram: each one is a lead that went nowhere, and you can see it.

The catch-up
Early askers still get their DM
Comments that come in before the post is on or has its link, before it is even imported, or with a word you only add later are kept, as long as one of your posts is already on. Once the post is ready, one click sends them their DM, as long as the comment is less than 7 days old, the limit Instagram sets. Both plans include it.

They asked and got nothing back. Instagram only accepts a reply for 7 days after the comment.
The trigger word
It never fires by accident
You choose the word, per post, and write it in your caption. It has to stand on its own to count: “linked” will not trigger “LINK”. Case, accents and punctuation are ignored, so real comments still match.

The click count
You see which link they opened
By default, every link you DM goes out through a short redirect, so a DM you send becomes a click you can count. On the Pro plan you see the opens broken down per post, so you know which ones actually earn them.

DM replies
They DM you the word, they get the link
On the Pro plan, PigeonDM can also answer direct messages and story replies that contain one of your words, with the message you set for that word. Each person gets it once per word. It stays off until you turn it on in your settings.

- Never sends twice
- One send at most per person, per post, enforced by the database itself. Two comments landing at the same instant cannot produce two DMs.
- Approved by Meta
- PigeonDM connects through the official Instagram login and API. Meta reviewed the comment and message permissions it uses, and approved them. Your password never goes through PigeonDM.
- Keeps itself running
- The token renews before it expires and the post import resumes where it stopped. A failed send stays visible in the log, and the Pro plan replays it overnight.
- Stops when you say so
- Revoke the permission from Instagram and everything stops at once. You can also delete the account, and its whole history, from the dashboard.
